About Us
The Asian Bond Market Forum is an independent research institute, based in Hong Kong and with affiliated offices in other Asian cities.
It is a non-profit institute that works in conjunction with local universities across Asia, forming a network that helps translate the market knowledge of finance professionals into regulatory policy for governments. The ABMF's research projects are designed to provide the empirical basis for determining the proper sequence of building blocks, unique to each country, for creating a complete and liquid local-currency bond market.
ABMF connects market professionals with policy makers in several ways:
- Informal briefings with regulators over future policy options
- Occasional roundtable discussions to evaluate recent policy
- Government-mandated studies to guide regulatory development
- Result-focused policy working groups that propose reforms
- Comparative legal analysis for model regulations, which can encourage a gradual harmonization bond-related laws across Asia
